Eddie Murphy says family and kids at centre of his life

' Coming to America' star Eddie Murphy feels it is important to be "present" in his children's life, and that has made him more selective on what jobs he takes as he doesn't want to pick movie roles just because "somebody flashed a big dollar sign in front of you".

"My career, or what I am as an artist, that's not at the centre of my life. At the centre of my life is my family and my kids. That's the principal relationship, and everything comes after that. I have 10 kids, and I'm present, and I'm part of their lives. You got to have some kind of balance with career and personal life.

"I started making movies when I was 20, and I auditioned for SNL when I was 18, so that's 40 years ago. So I had a little crossroads where it was like, It's time to back off, and sit on the couch and just be Dad. Now, I just want to do stuff where there's an emotional hook, and it's something that I'm really into, and not just doing it because, you know, somebody flashed a big dollar sign in front of you."

Superfan sings for Taylor Swift

A Taylor Swift superfan serenaded his idol as she holidayed in the Maldives.

Matthew Crane performed for the 'Cats' star and her boyfriend Joe Alwyn as they enjoyed a romantic break with friends in the beautiful island to mark New Year's Eve.

Revealing what happened, he said: "They were the last group to arrive, so there was no one else on the jetty. I saw this pretty, pretty couple and their friends, and as she walked up from where she got off the boat, I realised who she was - it was Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn.

"She was in a really pretty black sequins dress that went down to her knees. Joe was wearing a nice collared shirt with shorts or trousers, because they were on an island, there was a lot of people wearing smart-casual clothes ... I sang a lot of different songs when they heard me, but it was when I finished singing that they actually stood up and clapped. And they both said simultaneously, 'You've got an amazing voice, that was really good. Well done to you.' And then they walked off to the main event, which was on the other part of the island. And sang a bit later, and Taylor's best friend, Abigail [Anderson Lucier], came up to me said, 'How does that voice come out of that small, young body of yours.' She told me I was brilliant."

And Matthew admits it was "really nice" to get recognition from Taylor for his vocal abilities, revealing it was a very "intimate" event.

Celine Dion still in love with late husband

Celine Dion thinks about her late husband's "beautiful smile" every day. The ' My Heart Will Go On' hitmaker has paid tribute to her beloved spouse Rene Angelil - who passed away on January 14, 2016 - on the fourth anniversary of his death and has thanked him for "watching over" her and their sons Rene-Charles, 19, and 10-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson.

Taking to her Instagram account, Celine uploaded a photograph of Rene cuddling up to a puppy and she wrote: "There is not a day that goes by without me thinking about your beautiful smile. We miss you, thank you for watching over us my love. I love you. Celine xx...(sic)"

The 51-year-old singer recently admitted she is open to finding love again and remarrying, but she isn't worried if she doesn't find a new partner because she still has the music manager "within" her.

Asked if she is open to remarrying and if she's dating again, she said: "I don't date. I don't have a boyfriend and you know, it doesn't mean that I will not find someone in my life. If I do, that would be great. If I don't, that would be great, because I am still in love.

"Once you're in love so much, you know, I've been living all my life with Rene. He is still within me. I see him through the eyes of my children every day. I'm so passionate about life and I'm so lucky to have my three beautiful sons.

"But, I keep everything open. If it happens, I'm not looking for that. I think it's something that happens, that you feel, that comes, and right now, if I would have someone in my life, I would tell you because I've been an open book all my life. If I do, I'll come back and tell you about it."

Selena Gomez 'throwing that all' into new album

Selena Gomez is "done protecting people" who never "cared" for her. The 27-year-old singer has set tongues wagging with her new album ' Rare' as many fans believe the songs narrate her on/off toxic relationship with Justin Bieber - who is now married to Hailey Baldwin - but she has admitted, before she released her single ' Lose You To Love Me', she used to be scared about opening up.

Speaking to Billboard, she said: "I've said this before, but I used to be terrified of saying anything. I would find myself protecting people that never protected me or cared for me. I wouldn't want to say the wrong thing, and I wouldn't want people to think that I had any other motive, other than just being a kind person -- though that is who I am and I am proud of that. I was just done, you know?

"Just done being silent, and I felt like I deserved to have a moment for myself, after going through so much, and throwing that all into this album."

The brunette beauty was a "mess" when she penned the song in early 2019 but, by the time she shot the music video, she felt "free" after sharing her feelings.

She explained: "When I wrote the song 'Lose You to Love Me,' I was kind of a mess. It was really difficult for me. And by the time we shot the music video at the end of the year, it had a completely different meaning, and it was so freeing."

Selena - who sought treatment after an emotional breakdown - feels the "happiest" she's ever been and she's looking forward to what the future holds for her.
