The first single from producer Notnice's highly anticipated ' Kyng Midas' album will see dancehall artiste Popcaan showing off his vocal ability on a reggae classic.

The track which will be released today is a cover of Garnet Silk's New Found Love and, according to Notnice, is just as good as the original.

"I don't know what inspired him (Popcaan) to do this song. But he was in Trinidad for a show recently and he just called me and asked to have the riddim ready when him reach Jamaica. I contacted Clive Hunt and got the musicians together and the rest is greatness (not history). Popcaan's voice on the track blends naturally and people have been giving it some good feedback since we previewed it about a week ago," he said. "This is the first time Popcaan is doing a cover and also the first time people really get to hear him on a reggae riddim, even singing. The song definitely sets the tone for what to expect from the album and so people should be really excited about it."

The producer has been promoting Kyng Midas for quite some time and says the compilation should be ready for pre-orders as early as July 17.

"Basically, I have everything finished and mixed and mastered to have the album submitted so it can be made available for pre-order but the album release is set for August 9, he said. I have been working really hard on this project and I know the people will love it. All the artistes on it are stars in their own right and all the songs have hit potential."

Aside from established acts such as Popcaan and Jahvinci, Notnice is also expected to feature two up-and-coming artistes on the album.

Pointing out that it has always been his modus operandi to introduce new talent to the dancehall scene, the producer said he titled the album Kyng Midas because like the fictional character, everything he touches 'turns to gold'.

A launch party for the album is expected to be held the day before the album is officially released. Plans, however, are still being finalised and thus a venue has not yet been announced.
