Unidentified man's body found washed ashore St Mary beach

Police in St Mary are investigating the discovery of the body of an unidentified man found along the shoreline at Robins Bay Beach in the vicinity of Green Castle on Thursday morning.

According to the police, officers responded to a report at about 7:30 a.m. after a resident spotted a body along the beach.

On arrival, the lawmen discovered the body of an unidentified male lying on the shoreline.

Head of the St Mary Police Division, Superintendent Anthony Wallace, said the body was removed from the scene and taken for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

"The body was removed from the scene pending a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. At this time, the deceased has not been identified, and investigations are ongoing," Wallace said.

The St Mary Police are appealing to anyone who may be able to assist in identifying the deceased or provide information relevant to the investigation to contact the Port Maria CIB at 876-333-9530 or 876-994-4222, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.
