Two new cases increase Jamaica's COVID-19 tally to 490
The Ministry of Health and Wellness has reported four additional recoveries from COVID-19, and two new confirmed positive cases over the last 24 hours. This brings to 62 the total number of recoveries, and to 490 the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the island.
The two new cases were males, one aged 35 years and the other 57 years.
The 35-year-old remains under investigation while the 57-year-old is the contact of a confirmed case.
There are 224 confirmed COVID-19 cases related to the workplace cluster. These individuals are primarily from the parishes of St. Catherine and Kingston and St. Andrew, and range in age from 17 to 53 years old. They include 168 females and 56 males.
According to the Health Ministry 216 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours.
To date 6,633 samples have been in tested in total, 490 are positive, 6,096 are negative, and 47 samples are currently pending.
