Captin CC talks about loyalty on new single
Emerging Montego Bay-based dancehall artiste Captin CC is generating a major buzz with his latest release, the hilarious Buy a Dog.
The song is the lead single from his upcoming Unresolved EP. He explained that the song is a metaphor for the genuine connections we crave in life.
"Dogs are loyal companions, unlike people who might be motivated by ulterior motives. We all can relate to this one, young, old, residents of any nation, creed or colour will surely agree and relate to it," said the artiste whose given name is Christopher Samuels. He is also gearing up to unleash Unresolved which he said took six months to complete.
"So I know it will be very much different than what [people] expect," the artiste said.
This EP showcases Captin CC's unique sound and emotional depth with a blend of reggae, Afrobeats, and dancehall sprinkled with pop-influenced flavour. He expressed confidence that Unresolved will be a "game-changer".
"The people, especially the younger generation of this genre need more authentic vibes like this and Captin CC is ready to make a lasting impact on the music scene. I'm excited to finally share my music with the world," he said.
The artiste said that he will also be releasing the single, Sitting By the Still Water, later this month.
"It's my time, and I'm ready to make my mark," he said.
