Late-night earthquake rocks Kingston and St Andrew

Residents of sections of Kingston and St Andrew were jolted late Thursday night by a minor earthquake that sent a brief tremor through the capital and surrounding areas.

According to the Earthquake Unit at the University of the West Indies, Mona, the quake measured 3.1 in magnitude and was recorded at about 10:31 p.m.

The unit reported that the epicentre was located approximately five kilometres north of Stony Hill in St Andrew.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries following the tremor.
