The Chozenn one - Gospel artiste says he is mission to win souls for Christ

January 29, 2020

Gospel artiste Chozenn is staying true to his mandate of inspiring people to turn away from a life of sin. Last week the entertainer released his latest single, I Can Be, and said the track is to further fuel peoples' desires to lead Christ-like lives.

"It's all about the people for me. Christ was for the people and so Chozenn is for the people. I want to impact the minds of the people positively. My mandate is really to just pull on the hearts of the people and get them to walk into their truth purpose. I want to renew minds and sow positive seeds and that's what this song does," he said.

Chozenn is famous for 'cleaning up' secular songs with raunchy lyrics, and giving them gospel makeovers. One of his singles, Jesus Name Mi Bawl Out, is a remix of the popular secular hit, Bawl Out, by dancehall artiste, Dovey Magnum. He also remixed Dexta Daps' provocative No Underwear, putting out a single called Scary.

Serious about mission

The gospel deejay told the STAR that he is serious about being a messenger for Christ and he is not concerned about how he is perceived by some persons.

"My job is to do good, how I'm received isn't up to me," he said. "That doesn't fuel my spirit. My purpose is to sow positive seeds and God will do the rest."

And he believes he will continue to make a huge impact on the industry.

"My album, Culture Invasion was released last summer and it has been doing some great work. I will be pushing the project even more in 2020 because this will be the year of great things for Chozenn," he said.

"There will be a lot of shows, a lot of music, a lot of major moves. I'm so protective of these works that I don't even want to speak much about them for spiritual reasons. They're gonna be big."
