Record producer Damage of record label Damage Music has been creatin waves in the music industry since he was introduced to the music space in 2013.

Damage, whose given name is Dwayne Parkinson, said that he recently went through one of the most difficult periods of his life. The producer said things got to a point where he felt he would give up music, but it ended up being the very thing that dug him out of his dark place.

"I sat back and saw my mind go all out. I was at a point in my life where I was gonna give up the music because throughout my musical journey, I've faced depression, anxiety and sleepless nights," he said.

"Not saying I would wilfully harm myself, but depression itself is life-threatening," he added.

"I created a ballad-type beat based on my mood. When you are depressed, you only attract a particular type of music, and so I released those emotions in the studio in the form of an instrumental. I then went ahead and contacted each artiste (on the riddim) and explained to them the musical vibe because I wanted each artiste to express their experiences on the issue of depression, and before you know it, we had a hit on our hands," he said.

The riddim, titled Conquest Paradise, features Tommy Lee Sparta's most recent single, Blessings. The project also features fast-rising dancehall star Chronic Law.

According to the producer, the song is already doing well with landing of the number-two spot on Zojack music sales top 10, he believes it will be a hit. So far, the song has amassed more than nine million views online and is picking up momentum on international radio stations like Hot 97 and BBC 1XTRA, among others.

Damage believes the project's success is a sign from God that he serves a greater purpose and will give him the push he needs to continue on a positive path.

"Can you imagine getting such a major hit after being at the lowest point of your life emotionally?

"I had to go down on my knees and pray and give thanks and ask God to continue protect me on my journey. It's clear to me that God always has a plan for you, even when you don't see it," he said.
