Narine comes good for KKR in win against Capitals

Sunil Narine produced a Player of the Match performance to help defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) register a much-needed 14-run win victory over the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) yesterday.
Narine scored a whirlwind 27 from 16 balls batting at the top of the order as KKR posted a competitive 204 for nine from their 20 overs after being sent in to bat at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
KKR were led by Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored 44 from 32 balls, Rinku Singh made 36 from 25 balls, while captain Ajinkya Rahane and Rahmanullah Gurbaz both scored 26 runs.
Andre Russell made 17 from nine balls with two fours and a six at the depth.
Mitchell Starc took 3-43, while Axar Patel and Vipraj Nigam each took two wickets for the Capitals.
Narine then returned to grab 3-29 from his four overs with his right-arm spin, as the Capitals were restricted to 190 for nine from their 20 overs.
Narine accounted for the key wickets of topscorer Faf du Plessis, who scored 62 from 45 balls and captain Axar Patel, who belted 43 from 23 balls, as well as danger man Tristan Stubbs for just one, to turn the match in KKR's favour.
Varun Chakravarthy provided good support by taking 2-39, while Russell finished with 1-22.
