Justin Dunn was employed as Tivoli Gardens' wing back for three seasons, which was changed on the arrival of new coach Jerome Waite, who decided to use the young player to lead his forward line. This has so far reaped excellent rewards.

Dunn has already netted four goals in three matches, including a hat-trick against west Kingston rivals Arnett Gardens on Sunday. Waite coached Arnett for several years, winning two titles.

The 21-year-old Dunn, in his fourth season with Tivoli, is on a personal mission to earn an overseas contract this term.

"From preseason, I have been putting in the work. This is my fourth season at Tivoli. I started playing at age 17, and this season is personal because I am searching for a contract overseas, and I am doing it for my mom and my little daughter," he swore.

Dunn disclosed that he always knew he could score goals, and credits Waite for seeing that talent in him.

"The coach saw something in training. He said I kick the ball very well. I am basically the frontman between defending, leading the line and getting the goals for the team.

"Before the season, I mainly worked on finishing because I wanted to get the goals because, for the previous seasons, I was playing right or left back. Jerome Waite came to Tivoli and saw something in me that the other coaches didn't, which is the attacking part of my game and that I score goals very well. He is depending on me to lead the line for Tivoli Gardens FC," he continued.

Dunn, who idolises Harry Kane, plans on scoring at least 15 for the season and with four already to his name, he is confident of reaching his objective.

"The target is 15 goals or more. I am on four goals in three games and mature enough to lead the line for Tivoli Gardens.

"I am working on the physical aspect of the game, especially my fitness. Once you have the fitness and you are in shape, the result will come. Once you are fit, you will show your true potential," Dunn said.

He added that although he expected to get on the scoresheet against Arnett, scoring three goals was beyond his imagination.

"I didn't expect a hat-trick to come, but it came, and I am thankful."
