Holness urges caution on the nation's road
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has called on Jamaicans to be more responsible in using the nation's roads.
Holness said he was deeply concerned that more than 200 persons have died in road crashes since the start of the year. As a result, he has appealed to road users to take special care as they use thoroughfares.
"Drivers, passengers, motor cyclists, and pedestrians, slow down. Observe the rules of the road. Be courteous, drive defensively, be considerate, buckle up and wear a helmet," Holness said.
Two hundred and nineteen persons have been killed in 181 fatal crashes since the start of the year.
