Record producer Jason, head of Jahson Entertainment, is looking to diversify his productions this year. The producer, who usually focuses on reggae, says despite his loyalty to Jamaican music, he wants to dabble in other genres in the coming months.

"As a producer, I have to stay focused and not really stray because the aim is to keep the youth on a positive path, but I am taking this direction because the music takes a turn sometimes, and I want to be as flexible as this industry is," he said. "I will be producing various genres. I am not going to limit myself to just dancehall or reggae music anymore."

Although diversifying his portfolio has always been on his 'to do' list, Jason told THE STAR that he was inspired by Koffee's Grammy win.

"Koffee getting the Grammy inspired me and showed me that we just have to put in the work because we already have the breakthrough," he said. "I feel the current state of dancehall needs upliftment from all the negativity, and new faces are the ones to do that."

Now promoting his Cash Cash rhythm compilation, the producer says he has been putting plans in place to work with a number of big-name dancehall acts. Among those on his list are Demarco, Chronic Law, Popcaan, and Squash.
