‘One Big Family’ for Reggae Wednesdays
Reggae Wednesdays, one of the signature events for Reggae Month, returns to Emancipation Park tomorrow and will feature an impressive line-up of popular artistes, veterans and upcoming acts, showcasing all genres of Jamaican music.
The themes for Reggae Wednesday this week is 'One Big Family'. The other three instalments of the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) event have been themed, 'Dancehall Can't Stall', 'Reggae Got Soul' and 'Di Riddim in Worship'.
Reggae Wednesdays will begin at 5 p.m. with a symposium, and then there will be libation and drumming by the Akwaaba Drummers.
"All events in the park will be of the quality the public has become accustomed," JaRIA Chairman, Ewan Simpson, stated, while emphasising the importance of Jamaicans coming out to celebrate a music that has its origins here and impacts millions across the world.
"Reggae Month celebrations are a gift to the people of Jamaica, and inasmuch as we welcome visitors to enjoy the myriad of offerings for the month, it is the spirit of the Jamaican people that will make Reggae Month 2020 special."
