Headphone parties are not unfamiliar to Jamaicans, but promoter Askel 45 said that he has brought the concept to Portmore.

"It's really gaining momentum and our patrons love the concept," he said. "It's really something different from the norm, and I am happy that I set the trend in Portmore with regard to party promotion."

The most recent party was held recently in the Portsmouth area of Portmore, and he said it was a unique way of adhering to the Noise Abatement Act, as the decibels are at a low level, causing zero disturbance in the community.

He added: "The venue on Fearon Road, Portsmouth, was jam-packed. Because of the rain we didn't get the turnout we expected, but we still have to give thanks for the strength. We had a decent crowd ... so our party is still growing," Askel 45 said.
