New rhythm highlights young artistes
New York-based label Gold and Goals Production recently dropped its latest project - The Creation rhythm.
The project fuses remnants of the steel band flavour with the reggae essence to create something the label believes gives a throwback flair to a new sound.
"We wanted something that drew on an authentic Jamaican sound that people could relate to, while sounding new and fresh, and the steel drum achieved just that. So far it has nothing but positive reviews," Gold T, the label CEO said.
The Creation Rhythm features a plethora of young, talented artistes with strong vocals that would complement the rhythm itself, while all amplifying reality-based content.
These acts include Instink, Synistah, J A Outlaw, Palms, Breeza Sparta, Rash Ash and popular lyricist Shane-O.
The move was intended to highlighting young, talented Jamaican acts to the international space.
"These artistes were selected to give them a voice, because it's rare that 90 per cent of a project is up-and-coming talent. We wanted to start to help these artistes build a solid catalogue because every artiste was a new artiste at some stage in their career, " Gold T said.
The project, released earlier this month, has already benefited from some animated visuals for Shane-O's One Way single.
New official videos are expected later this month in Jamaica for a few of the new artistes on the project.
Gold and Goals is also looking at doing additional projects going into 2020, including singles with Capleton, Munga Honorable, and another juggling project called 'Love Potion'.
