6ix members to highlight Christmas Extravaganza

December 20, 2019

Top-flight acts Chronic Law and Daddy 1 will headline GT Taylor's Christmas Extravaganza: Euphoria 2019 at the Sand Bar Beach on Crane Road in Black River, St Elizabeth, on Christmas Day.

Talented acts such as Vershon and Starface are also on the line-up. Music will be provided by DJ Nova and DJ Klive.

Taylor believes that his annual event will provide a significant multimillion-dollar economic jolt to the sleepy coastal town, and is a major boost for south coast tourism.

"The entire parish benefits in some way from the event, from merchandisers and retailers to vendors to hotels. The event generates millions of extra income for the hard-working business people of Black River," Taylor said.

Chronic Law and Daddy 1, members of dancehall group the 6ix, are heralded as the next big things in dancehall.

The Montego-based entourage, headed by Squash, has making a huge impact on the local music scene.

Chronic Law has had a breakout year with singles Hillside and Bless Me, while amassing 20.9 million streams over the past 12 months.

Meanwhile, Daddy 1's Brogad and Anthem are two of the year's biggest songs.

In the meantime, Taylor said that plans are well advanced to set up the logistics of a smoothly executed event.

"There will be paid parking inside the venue, plus two additional free parking lots will be available. We have engaged the police to assist with security. Patrons will get a welcome drink on entry. The gates will be open from 12 noon to accommodate beachgoers, but the party starts at 6 p.m, and artistes will perform in between DJ sets," GT Taylor said.
