Shella Topstar drops new EP
Dancehall entertainer Shella Topstar has released his new EP, ' Top Star'.
The seven-track effort, produced by AXiM Records, takes on a mix of sounds, including traditional dancehall, Afrobeat, and reggae.
Since its release, the tracks, which include the title track, Special, Profit, and Strength, have been receiving significant rotation on radio stations in Jamaica, New York, and London, as well as on social media.
"The reception has been excellent so far. People and DJs are playing my music on the streets, in taxis, in the clubs, on the radio, and at parties. It's a great feeling," he said.
Accompanying visuals are currently in the works, particularly for Special and Profit.
The Clarendon native has officially been in the business for the past four years.
"My music is a reflection of my personal experiences, as well as the realities in Jamaica and the world," he said. "My music addresses the needs and desires of the youth in today's society, lyrical content that resonates with the audience, along with melodies and arrangements that tell the stories of our time."
