Kashmar defends new single

Controversial dancehall artiste Kashmar has set tongues wagging on social media since the release of his latest single, Choppa Lifestyle.

Some critics believe the song endorses scamming, but Kashmar said he is not fazed by the mixed response because his art is a mere reflection of what has become normal in society.

"Music is art and art imitates life at all times, so my music is no different. I write what the street endorses, which is why I am connecting right now, but some people just afraid to admit that them like what me a seh or dem wish dem could a say it and it be true. My lifestyle a dem fantasy and my music is real yet innovative in terms of my delivery style, so yuh know how it guh, road bun up," said Kashmar.

HARD WORK

The artiste, who hails from Old Harbour, St Catherine, says his present buzz is as a result of years of persistent hard work.

"People don't usually see the groundwork, yet some envy the result. I have been doing music for many years, and it is finally paying off because I simply refused to take no for an answer. I know I have the talent and my team is always reminding me of the long-term goal, which is to be a legend. My ears don't pick up bad signal, suh all a dem whe a fight and bad mind me ting, tell dem me nah medz dem cause me have big moves to make," he said.

The music video for Choppa Lifestyle is also racking up impressive numbers on social media.
